Selection of Representatives

from Each Continent

To establish a strong and diverse leadership team for the World Forum for Inclusive Education, five representatives from different continents (Asia, Africa, Europe, America, and Australia/Oceania) ...

To build a leadership team that reflects the diversity of global education systems, the World Forum for Inclusive Education (WFIE) is committed to recruiting five distinguished representatives, each from one of the five continents: Asia, Africa, Europe, America, and Australia/Oceania. This initiative aims to ensure that the Forum’s strategies and actions are informed by regional perspectives, challenges, and best practices in inclusive education. By incorporating voices from different continents, WFIE seeks to create a truly global movement that champions equity, accessibility, and quality education for all.

These representatives will serve as key decision-makers, guiding the Forum’s global policies and initiatives. Their responsibilities will include advocating for inclusive education at both regional and international levels, fostering cross-border collaborations, and developing innovative strategies to address educational disparities. In addition, they will act as liaisons between the Forum and local stakeholders, ensuring that the Forum’s efforts are effectively implemented within diverse educational settings. Their leadership will be instrumental in building strong networks of educators, policymakers, and organizations working towards the shared vision of an inclusive learning environment.

By selecting a team of leaders with diverse expertise and regional insights, WFIE aims to strengthen international cooperation and drive impactful change in the field of inclusive education. This recruitment process is designed to identify passionate individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to inclusive education, whether through policy development, research, advocacy, or on-the-ground implementation. Their collective efforts will not only shape the Forum’s agenda but also contribute to long-term educational transformations that benefit marginalized and underserved learners worldwide.

Each representative must meet the following criteria:

Expertise in Inclusive Education – Professionals, academics, policymakers, or advocates with a strong track record in inclusive education.
Leadership and Influence – Individuals who have led initiatives, policies, or research that promote inclusive education.
Commitment and Engagement – Willingness to actively contribute to the Forum’s activities, meetings, and strategic planning.
Diversity and Representation – Ensuring gender balance, cultural diversity, and regional representation.

There are three main approaches to selecting the representatives:

a. Direct Appointment by the Forum’s Founding Team
  • Inviting well-recognized leaders in inclusive education.
  • Seeking recommendations from global organizations such as UNESCO, UNICEF, and international academic networks.
b. Open Nomination and Application
  • Launching an open call for nominations and self-applications.
  • Candidates must submit an application detailing their experience, achievements, and vision for inclusive education.
  • A selection panel will evaluate applications based on established criteria.
c. Regional Endorsement Process
  • Engaging key institutions, organizations, and networks from each continent to propose suitable candidates.
  • Conducting consultations to ensure legitimacy and broad representation.
  • Announcement – The call for representatives will be widely publicized.
  • Application and Nomination Period – Interested candidates or nominators will submit applications.
  • Evaluation and Shortlisting – The selection committee will assess candidates and may conduct interviews.
  • Final Selection and Appointment – Selected representatives will be formally appointed and introduced to the Forum.
